Lynne Marie Rowland writes fantasy self-help books where magic and myth intertwine with love stories, spirituality, and nature. When she’s not writing, she’s wandering in her real-life forest, sipping herbal tea, or trying to convince any of her cats to smile.
Lynne lives in the Pocono Mountains with her husband, too many cats, a garden full of magical herbs, and the wise inhabitants of the forest.
"My mission is to seed transformation in others and to help them find their own magic."
Lynne still believes in magic.
"This is one of the most powerful books I have ever read. And yes, I smiled. And, Dear God ... Yes, I wept." Gregg Tyler Milligan, internationally-renowned, award-winning author and abuse prevention advocate.
"Rowland takes on the challenge of abuse and forgiveness with writing rich in sensory description and spiritual magic. A young woman on a courageous journey to learn the truth behind her family’s silences, secrets, and lies uncovers a horrific history of sexual abuse over generations, in Lynne Marie Rowland’s luminous and wise book." Foreword review
"One of the things I really liked about the book was the end. Life is not about finding a way to deal with the pain, but finding a way to move past it and open yourself up to the life you want to lead. I found that message to be a very powerful one." Child Abuse Survivor. net review
"The powerful story will nonetheless particularly appeal to survivors of childhood trauma." Kirkus review
Lynne Marie Rowland is the author of The Gnosis of the Salmon and A Compendium of Shaman Animals – stories steeped in Celtic myth, wild nature, romance and magic. Her work blends mythological threads drawn from Celtic, Welsh and Breton traditions, spirituality, and self-help. She is working on an upcoming book.
Besides writing, Lynne worked as a marketer, a consultant, and ran an e-commerce company. She’s passionate about sustainable living, fae lore, gardening, and creating cozy, enchanted spaces both on and off the page.
She has an eclectic taste in literature – ranging from fantasy to spirituality to self-help to sustainability and nature. “I have always found the deepest inspiration in fantasy - from my earliest readings of J.R.R. Tolkien to modern writers such as Charles de Lint.” Lynne studied writing with SARK, whose style of handwritten and self-illustrated books has influenced her latest work in progress, a fantasy self-help book.
Sometimes people get stuck in limiting beliefs due to prior hurtful experiences. Lynne hopes to inspire others to transform their lives using the magic available to all of us. Sharing these lessons through storytelling gives the seeds of transformation to all, allowing each of us to dream a better life into being.
When a young woman takes a journey to learn the truth behind her family’s secrets, she uncovers an answer that will change her. To find that truth, Elinor returns to her childhood fantasy world, confronting the evil Necromancer of Gwennec Mor. She does not realize that Jimmy, the man who broke her heart, is absolutely essential to fulfilling her destiny. She also does not realize that the paths of both her grandfathers and her mother who narrate the book, along with her child self, are inextricably linked across time, and that her quest is the only way that her entire family can be free. How far will Elinor go to save herself and the people she loves?
